music        news/events        bio        contact        recordings Snapshots for Fred 2004 guitar duration 5' SCORE Coqui Beach Cats Ferry to Culebra The Endless Busride Damp Hotel  PROGRAM NOTE Musical pictures of a Puerto Rican vacation: Coqui — a little rainforest frog; Beach Cats — on San Juan's old city beach walkways; Ferry to Culebra— two hours to board, noisy crossing, hotel had lost our booking, weather was dull, only one daytime ferry back next day at 10:00 am, on road back from the ferry terminus armed police surrounded a car stopped next to us on the highway, and I ate roadside ground beef and got food poisoning; The Endless Busride – a 10 minute ride that detoured into 50 minutes with a long, long nightime stop south of the city; Damp Hotel – the pleasure of damp bed sheets and that special mildewy smell. It was a good vacation, but these things needed a little soundtrack.
